Here are the 'very non-basic' answers to the TWO most Fundamental Questions:

"What makes it work so well"? ... and, "What makes it so different"?

The answers are rather technical so it all starts with the Cross-section Sketch below:

The Sketch shows the Cooling System Breach types and it illustrates the variations and locations of the typical Head Gasket Failures, and/or possible Cracks in the Engine Heads  or Cracks in the Cylinder Blocks.
In addition, below the typical 4 Cylinder Engine Block, (or one Cylinder Bank of a V8 Engine), the Sketch also shows 3 levels of Breach magnification of the 'Combustion Chamber to Coolant Leak', and one magnification for the '
Oil Passage Leak' type Breach.

Those '3 levels of Breach magnifications' are actually instrumental in 'reveling the ultimate secret' of "What makes it work so well"?!

It shows the Hot Exhaust Gasses from the Combustion Chamber (BLUE COLOR) penetrating into the Cooling System Passage (GREEN COLOR) and causing various degrees of Engine Overheating and Coolant Boiling-Over... and it also shows the leak from the opposite direction - Coolant from the Cooling System Passage (GREEN COLOR) penetrating into the Combustion Chamber (
BLUE COLOR) - causing Steam and Smoke from the Exhaust Pipe, Engine Misfiring, Loss of Power, etc.

It zooms-in further into the same Breach - once the seal has already been formed - so as to show where the
HEAL-A-SEALTM has created a strong bond to the internal surfaces of the Breach, and has completely filled the Breach ... to create a PERMANENT SEAL ... which is shown in RED COLOR!

This highest magnification shows the enlarged details of how its proprietary 'aggressive' molecular structure has additionally created a 'RIVET TYPE HEAD' at both ends of the Breach! (indicated by 2 RED ARROWS).

But that 'COMMANDO STYLE' INSTANT BONDING to the INTERNAL surfaces of the Breach, and the 'AGGRESSIVE MOLECULAR STRUCTURE'  of the Seal which has already created a RIVET TYPE HEAD - one on each side of the Breach - that is only the actual initiation of the HEAL-A-SEALTM proprietary process...
What the Sketch can not show is what happens during, and after, the overnight Curing Process!
And it is exactly this curing process which will make the 'rivet type seal' harden, and then turn it into an absolutely 'bulletproof and fireproof' mass - almost as strong as the Head or the Block itself!
And almost like an internal precision welding through that Breach... but of the consistency similar to that of the Porcelain Insulator around the Center Electrode of a Spark Plug ... except NOT as brittle!

Actually, the created 'Rivet Type Seal' will be quite a bit more flexible, as in addition to being EXCEPTIONALLY RESISTANT to the extremely high temperatures and pressures of the Combustion Chamber, it is also designed to withstand the tremendous 'tear-apart' forces produced by the differences in the rate of expansion, and the rate of contraction, which are constantly present between the Engine Blocks, and the Cylinder Heads. In fact, they are present throughout the entire engine, and especially so during the engine warm-ups and cool-downs... as well as under the different 'rates of STRAIN' that the engine is constantly and routinely exposed to -  even during its normal operation (acceleration, hill climbing, etc.)!...

And it is exactly this last HEAL-A-SEALTM characteristic - its enormous strength and thermal rigidity, combined with the incomparable flexibility, and under the extreme temperatures and pressures, (absolutely unattainable by any other sealing material!) which makes it truly a permanent solution!
This is also what
